Hello, I’m Asya. I was born in 1999 and grew up in Istanbul, Turkey. My journey with art began in high school, where I studied painting at a fine arts school. Since then, art has remained a quiet but persistent thread in my life—sometimes in the background, sometimes leading the way. Today, I continue my education in Fine Art at the University of Brighton in the UK.  

Much of my work draws from history and mythology. I often return to stories from my own culture—especially those that have been forgotten, silenced, or left untold. I find great joy in weaving these narratives together with myths and imagery from other cultures. Through this layered approach, I try to explore how identity, memory, and meaning are carried across time and borders.  My practice is still evolving. I’m learning, experimenting, and listening—with curiosity, care, and the hope that something personal might quietly resonate with others.
